I feel that the Alligator is a very misunderstood creature. I know they have a very harsh exterior, but the alligator is actually very shy. I’ve been mesmerized by this wonderful reptile because I was a kid. There’s a lot more to the alligator than what people may realized.

Here in Florida it’s stated that pretty much wherever there’s a mud puddle there’s probably a gator. There’s a lot of truth to this, but this is due largely to the fact that we’re taking away their houses on an alarming fast rate. I may be confused, but I am sure that they were here before us, yet people consider them to be a nuisance and invading their land. I am almost certain that it is really the other way around. If we’re taking away their houses then what do you think is going to happen? Where else are they supposed to go?

Something not everyone may know is that alligators are very important to our ecosystem.

Alligators shouldn’t be feared, but should be respected. They can grow to an extremely large size and wild alligator of 13 ft or more aren’t uncommon. Alligators in the wild do exhibit a natural fear of man, and if left alone would much rather stay away from people than attack them.

But, alligators lack the salt-extracting glands of crocodiles and cannot survive in salt water for extended periods of time. Alligators can be seen in a range of habitats such as marshland, swamps, rivers, ponds and lakes.

I am fortunate enough that I am able to sit out on my dock and watch this incredible creature, for hours.

Animals Are Innocent Souls

An animal’s eyes have the power to speak an remarkable language when you take the time to check into them. Recall also that compassion for other innocent living beings is the true judge of character. Animals have as much right as us to be here on this planet because they were created together with us.

And whoever said they were ours to do whatever we please with? You may be a meat-eater; nonetheless, I am not judging you but only trying to show you facts. Thus, do not mock vegan people as they’re just individuals who have the crazy idea that no creature should suffer.

However, humanity can no longer stand by and watch our amazing animals be abused and used in so many ways. Look in a creature’s eyes and make a stand, big or small, private or public. Do it before it’s too late. Remember, it takes away nothing to be kind to those gentle souls.

Thinking back to our school days, we were taught different subjects, given a bit of advice about what profession we should follow and that’s about it. There weren’t, and still are not, any superb training programmes in school unless you are an athlete.

Furthermore, with recent UK government policy indicating that all young people should have a coach or mentor, it’s hard to see how this will work in practical terms.

This situation continues to be of concern because the education sector continues to cut budgets and careers services.

During my teaching career I have never experienced or seen schools, colleges and universities and, for that matter, workplaces tap into the main passions that we are all born with.

Imagine if the education system tapped into our core passions and encouraged educational subjects around those passions rather than trying to pigeonhole everyone?

Having worked with thousands of young people, my goal in life is to inspire and encourage parents, guardians and those who meet young people to coach them towards a life and career full of purpose and have fun doing it. That is the reason I’ve written this report.

I see people’s eyes light up when they realize what’s possible and they see a future for themselves. This is particularly important for what we describe as the lost generation of children.

With young people I really like to see them discover what they want to do in life as this helps them focus on their choice of research.

So, let’s get down to it.

I’d love to help you to discover your child’s purpose in life and potentially your own – are you prepared? Remember that these exercises are best performed with young people age 14+ because this is the time when the family unit starts to consider further education at college and university. Additionally, this exercise is just as valuable for your older children age 18+, with or without assistance.

It is therefore easy to wander and ramble and accomplish little in life. I have known hundreds of students like this who have attended college and university without any concept of why they’re there or what they want to achieve in life.

To begin with try to talk with young people in a casual environment – do not sit them down and start grilling them since they’ll just walk off – usually!

As a career coach I use The Jack Canfield Success Basics and among the main places to begin would be to ask the young people in your family this query.

Ask them “What do you need?”

So the next question if they get stuck is to ask them what they don’t want e.g. to poor, homeless and jobless and just 3 examples.

Then ask “So if you don’t want to be poor, homeless and jobless what would you prefer instead”?

At this point either you or they could be composing a list. The list will usually include ‘things’ like automobiles and holidays in addition to more spiritual things like to be content and happy. It does not matter what the answers are right now.

Once there is a list ask your young person to hunt on the Internet for images of what they need and print them out. The images can then be placed on the wall to remind them daily what they’re aiming for. Some people exactly enjoy a list and that’s fine also.
